The Nokia 5230 Features An Array Of Useful Features

The 5230 measures 111x51.7x15.3mm and weighs in at 115g. The 3.2 inch resistive touchscreen is capable of displaying up to 16 million colours at 360x640 pixels ensuring depth and clarity of colour. An inbuilt accelerometer senses when the phone has been tilted and automatically rotates the on screen image so it can be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages by vibration and ringing with the option to download polyphonic ringtones and even use MP3 music files as ringtones. A speakerphone is included allowing hands free communication. A 3.5mm audio jack is also present which can be used with hand free kits as well as headphones for listening to music.

GPS with A-GPS support is accompanied by the useful Nokia Maps 2.0 feature.

The 5230 is equipped with a camera boasting 2MP which operates at a pixel ratio of 1600x1200 pixels. This also has the capability of shooting video in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

The 5230 has an impressive media player which supports a range of file formats. Music files are supported in MP3, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC and M4A formats. Video files in the following formats are also supported; WMV, RV, MP4 and 3GP. Should you wish to transfer media files between a computer and the handset, a micro USB (v2.0) is provided making this task easy. Radio can be listened to thanks to a Stereo FM radio with RDS, which adds to the entertainment options of the handset.

Other useful features include a Photo Editor, Flash Lite, voice command and dial as well as T9 predictive text input. A range of games can also be downloaded to keep users entertained.
The operating system is Symbian OS v9.4 and an ARM 11 434MHz processor handles demanding applications with ease.
